Gentlemen To Be
Though boys you are, I speak to you as men Capable of acting honorably As warriors and members of your clan; An asset to your chief and family. At your age your first duty is to serve Your mother, and to be obedient To her instruction that you may deserve To train to fight, once you’ve earned her consent. For honor comes of learning to obey; To give, instead of taking, in your pride. Your deeds speak more than any words you say, And prove your worth by what you are inside. It’s my desire in you boys to see The gentlemen I expect you to be. |
