OwlsNestBard

Name:
Location: Shire of Trisel, Trimaris

I am in my late forties, a proud husband, father, and a bard. I am a book pedlar by trade and a bookman by vocation. I am a romantic, a realist, and a Believer. I like a good joke, and a bad one even better. I admire all ladies for the innate beauty that is in each one, but my heart is sworn to the fair and gentle Lady Lorelei, who has consented to share my life and my name.

The Way of Things

The butterfly emerges from its tight-wound bed of silk;
Tests the morning sunshine and the promise of new wings;
Finds the freedom of the air and leaves the earth behind;
A fairy-dance of color as a new life laughs and sings.

The nature of the world is change as life begets its own.
The young are born and thus grow up to find where they belong.
They leave the nest to try their strength and join the harmony;
The chorus of existence all together joined in song.

This music is the undercurrent flowing through the bones
Of the very earth for those who have the ears to hear.
The echo of the melody is wisdom to the wise,
In tune with all creation with a true voice strong and clear.

And you who stand confused about your place within the song,
Struggling to understand the music and fit in.
The melody's within you written ere you first were born;
And you would sing if you would just get out of your own way.

Freedom comes from letting go of pre-conceived ideas.
Don't over-think the plumbing or you'll just stop up the drain.
You're as much a part of nature as the smallest butterfly.
The music and the dance await for you to find your joy.
